The Gorilla Safaris in the form of Rwanda Safari

Rwanda, a small country in the East-Central Africa, is blessed with a scenic terrain and versatile wildlife that comprise of the world famous mountain gorillas. These endangered mountain gorillas live in the Virunga National Park, in the north-west side of Rwanda, and a major attraction among the visitors of the country.

Rwanda Safaris provide exciting opportunities to watch the primates as they go on with their regular life. The safaris generally start in Musanze, which was previously known as Ruhengeri, the 4th biggest town in Rwanda. You can reach Musanze by private and public vehicles from Kigali, which is about 100 km away.  From Musanze, you have to hire a cab to the park boundaries at Kinigi, from where you can continue the journey on foot.
The hike, which provides numerous opportunities to go through a wide range of wild life including rare buffalo and golden monkey, needs patience and the guidance of an experienced tour guide during your Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Tours. A gorilla trekking tour will surely pay off when you spot a mature gorilla moving through the bamboo forest canopy. The gorillas look scary due to their huge stature. Nonetheless, the primates are friendly and not easily annoyed by human visitors.

Rwanda safaris are best during the dry season, which is between June to September and December to February, when the ground is not that slippery. In this period, the vegetation is thin enough to enable better view of the primates. A permit is necessary for the gorilla trekking adventures. You can also get your permit from the RDB Tourism and Conservation Office. It is recommendable to book your permit for at least 3 months beforehand in order to avoid any kind of disappointment. Along with gorilla trekking, other attractions are wild animals that visitors just love to watch during their Rwanda safari.
